- IEEE is one of the world's largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. Student Branch of BJI constitutes 76 student members of Bishop Jerome Institute from all the four branches (EEE, ECE, ME and CE).
- Faculty members in charge are Ms. Swathy M (Associate Professor, EEE Dept) and Ms. Blessy Babu (Assistant Professor, ECE Dept.)

- The Idea Pitching Competition was thus aimed at polishing the critical and creative thinking abilities of budding engineers so that they become competent enough to face the challenges of tomorrow.
- This talk session was aimed towards helping final years in learning how to implement their Course project in a practical and efficient manner, along with how to apply for financial aids for the same.
- The PRESTO Extempore Competition was aimed at improving the students' confidence to become better orators so that they can fearlessly express their views on any topic.
- As part of the International Women's Day, a webinar on the theme Women Empowerment through Women in Engineering (WIE).
- The COGNITARE Rapid Fire Competition was aimed at developing the participants spontaneous thinking and answering capability.
- The competition was aimed at improving the linguistic skills of the students and also to provide an insight on technical matters.
- IEEE SB (WIE) of Bishop Jerome Institute conducted a social challenge "Period Cramps Challenge" by which, Men can experience a feeling of pain that women go through on their menstrual cycle by using a period simulator. The machine mimics the aching and painful cramps. There are several levels to the machine, which contracts the muscles for wearers to feel the sensation. Level four is deemed as the standard cramp feeling and level 10 is the most unbearable.
- A hands-on workshop on "Haptics Technologies" was conducted by IEEE SB of Bishop Jerome Institute, Kollam on 25/03/2023, in association with Ammachi Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam. There were 21 participants from other colleges.
- An orientation program for the first year students was done as part of the membership development of student branch. The name of the program was "How to become a good leader". The resource person was Mr. Jithin K Jose, Vice Chair of MDC, IEEE Kerala section. All students from first year (120 students) participated. Previous execom members Mr. Abin A. J., Mr. Binoy Fernandez and Ms. Vanditha M. S. volunteered the event. The speaker motivated the students not only through the lecture but also through many interesting games. The students were actively participated the program and gave good feedback.
- The “POWER OF AUTOCAD” , organized by IEEE SB BJI on the 28th of April in association with Department of EEE and COGNIZ’24 held at BISHOP JEROME INSTITUTE , Kollam served as a platform for passionate designers and engineers to exchange ideas, learn new skills, and network with the facilitator. Participants gained valuable insights into leveraging AutoCAD for diverse design projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. A total of 10 participants from various college’s together with the volunteers made this event into reality.
