The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2010 with a sanctioned intake of 60 students as per the curriculum of University of Kerala. From 2015, the programme is offered as per the curriculum of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). The Dept. takes immense pleasure in delivering technically proficient and ethically responsible engineers to the society and promises to produce more for improving the living standards of our nation.

The Dept. is also privileged to have an extremely dynamic and dedicated faculties whose expertise has been widely acknowledged. Most of them pursue research in areas such as structural engineering, Building materials, Transportation engineering and so on. The department also ensures the involvement of students in research activities by taking up relevant projects and publish findings in reputed conference and journals. The technical team is also equally skilled, with valuable experience from both industries and labs.

The Department is equipped with eight engineering laboratories to cater to external projects and consultancy works. Moreover, the department is constantly trying to build strong interactions with the industry. Our clients include private firms, industries, Government Departments and general public.

The Department of Civil Engineering is highly committed to the interdisciplinary academic, research and co-curricular activities of the institute. The department is dedicated to provide the students good understanding of Civil Engineering solutions in a global, social and environmental context, consistent with the principles of sustainable development. The department concentrates on the academic activities and gives motivation to students in cultural and extracurricular activities also.
