  • Department of Mechanical Engineering started publishing a monthly tabloid, the Engineering Edge, under the leadership of Asst Prof Tony John and Asst Prof Nevin Nelson. The January edition of the tabloid was featured in all major newspapers as it was completely based on Artificial intelligence generated content. This initiative was first of its kind and it was successful in providing the students a glimpse of the possibilities of the technology that is expected to drive the fifth phase of industrial revolution.
  • Associate Professor Abhishek P has submitted a Ph.D. thesis on Adsorption Desalination and has made significant contributions to research with five international papers to his credit. He has also authored a book chapter on Renewable Energy published by UNESCO, further enriching the academic community with his expertise.
  • Asst Prof  Abhishek P ; Published a paper “Performance investigation of silica gel based consolidated composite adsorbent effective for adsorption desalination system” in Elsevier Materials Today communication journal having an Impact factor value of 3.6 SCI Indexed Journal.
  • Asst Prof  Nevin Nelson Presented a Paper “Numerical Analysis on the Effect of Aspect Ratio in a Diesel Injector Using Diesel and Diesel-Ethanol Blend” in the 9 th International Conference on Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power, December at IIT Roorkee.
  • Asst Prof Lijin Thomas published a paper “Thermo-mechanical properties of cryogenic and dual alkali-anhydrous treated bio-composites for sustainability” in SAGE publication Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science Impact Factor: 1.758 SCI Indexed Journal.
  • Assistant Professor Rony Mohan has been selected as a Management Committee Member of SAE India, Cochin division, showcasing his commitment to professional development. He has actively participated in faculty development programs focusing on reshaping teaching-learning processes for the digital era and outcome-based education.
  • Assistant Professor Dhaneesh R I holds the prestigious position of Kollam Pathanamthitta Regional Coordinator for the National Resource Protective Force under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University NSS Cell, demonstrating his leadership and community engagement.
  • Associate Professor Bejoy S actively participated in a Faculty Development Program focused on "Developments in Renewable Energy Systems and Technologies," organized by the Indian Society of Technical Education at MCET.
  • Assistant Professor Tony John took part in a National-level Online Faculty Development Program titled "Outcome-Based Education and Essential AI Tools for Teachers," hosted by St. Thomas College, Palai.
  • Assistant Professor Nevin Nelson participated in a short-term training program focused on standards, jointly conducted by the Bureau of Indian Standards and NIT Calicut.
  • Associate Professor Bejoy S ,Laiju Thankachan, Nevin Nelson attended FDP on “3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing” held during 18th to 22nd April 2022 Conducted by  Department of Mechanical Engineering, Musaliar College of Engineering & Technology.
  • Asst Prof Tony John, Nevin Nelson attended FDP sponsored by KTU on the topic “Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in Manufacturing” at Adi Sankara Institute of Engineering and Technology on 18th to 20th January 2023.
  • Asst Prof Rony Mohan was attended 4 FDP’s;

    • “Crossdisciplinarity in Research” Organized by Faculty Development Centre of the Kerala state higher education Council from 19th January to 24th January.
    • “Outcome Based Education” organised by SES College, Sreekandapuram in association with the Kerala state higher education Council.
    • “Reshaping teaching learning process for digital Era” at Carmel college of engineering from 30th January to 3rd February.
  • Asst Prof Nevin Nelson attended NPTEL Sponsored workshop on the topic “Selection of Nanomaterials for Energy Harvesting and Storage Applications”, July 16-17, IIT Roorkee.
  • During the college council elections, Mr. Sreeram S from S8 Mechanical secured the position of chairman. Additionally, representing our department, Sidharth Shibu was elected as the Arts Club Secretary, while Gilbert T G assumed the role of Department Representative.
  • Abin N George; S2 Mechanical won second prize in the 1100cc rally race competition conducted by FMSCI (The federations of motor sports club of India) in February 2023.
