KOLLAM, KERALA – The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the Bishop Jerome Institute (BJI), in academic collaboration with the ACM Chapter and PhiScape, has officially opened registrations for its upcoming 6-Day National-Level Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled "Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI & Advanced Data Analytics for Teaching, Research and Innovation". Scheduled to take place from June 27th to July 2nd, this extensive professional development program is explicitly curated to empower faculty members, academicians, and research scholars with next-generation technological competencies.

Supported actively by the Ministry of Education’s Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Industry Interaction Cell (BJI), this FDP bridges academic instruction with contemporary industry benchmarks. Designed to seamlessly fit into the schedules of busy working professionals, the live interactive sessions will be hosted online daily from 08:00 PM to 09:30 PM IST.

FDP Vision and Core Objectives

As academic environments rapidly evolve with digital disruption, integrating machine learning tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) into daily pedagogy and research workflows has become critical. The main objectives of this national-level FDP include:

To ensure high-caliber training and practical exposure, the technical tracks will be led entirely by Ms. Swathimol, Senior Data Analyst at PhiScape Robotics Pvt. Ltd. Bringing extensive industrial experience in data science workflows, predictive modeling, and agentic AI pipelines, Ms. Swathimol will guide participants through hands-on coding paradigms, real-world case studies, and conceptual deep-dives.

  • Day 2: Advanced Data Analytics and Machine Learning

    • Topics Covered: Data Preparation for AI systems: Data Cleaning, Feature Engineering, Dimensionality Reduction, and Data Quality Metrics. Machine Learning for Decision Making: Supervised/Unsupervised Learning, Ensemble Methods, and Explainable AI (XAI).

    • Hands-on: Building predictive models and dynamic analytics dashboards.

  • Day 3: Generative AI and Large Language Models

  • Day 4: Agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation & Research Focus

    • Topics Covered: Agentic AI Systems: AI Agents, Multi-Agent Systems, and Autonomous Workflows. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG): Vector Databases, Embeddings, Semantic Search, and Knowledge Graphs.

    • Hands-on: Constructing domain-specific research knowledge assistants.

  • Day 5: Responsible AI, Educational Applications & Future Directions
