Kollam, February 19, 2026 — In a significant stride toward environmental sustainability, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit No: 312 of Bishop Jerome Institute (BJI) organized a successful sapling distribution campaign today as part of the National Resource Protection Force (NRPF) activities.
The event, titled "Pachappu" (Greenery), drew a large gathering of students and faculty members committed to enhancing the ecological footprint of the campus and the surrounding community.
A Green Inauguration
The campaign was officially inaugurated at 10:00 AM in front of the Academic Block (MappuMaram). The event was graced by Mr. Issac Sebastian, the District Mission Coordinator for Haritha Keralam Kollam, who served as the chief guest.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Sebastian emphasized the critical role that youth play in climate action. He lauded the NSS unit’s initiative, noting that such grassroots movements are essential for the success of state-wide missions like Haritha Keralam.
