The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Bishop Jerome Institute, Kollam, organized a two-day workshop titled “IoT & App Development Essentials” on the 6th and 7th of May 2025. The workshop aimed to enhance technical knowledge and practical skills of +2 students in the domains of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Android Application Development.  A total of 43 Students participated in the workshop.

Day 1: 6thMay 2025

                                The event commenced at 10:00 AM with a Silent Prayer followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Prof. Roy S., Dean of Academics and Head of the ECE Department. The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Benjamine Palliyadiyil, Manager, BJI.

The traditional Lighting of the Lamp ceremony marked the formal inauguration of the workshop. The Chief Guest, Mr. Athul Mohan, CEO of Neovent Innovations, delivered the Inaugural Address, highlighting real-world applications and career opportunities in IoT and mobile app development.

Dr. Anil A.R., Principal of BJI, offered the Felicitation, and the inaugural session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Blessy Babu, Assistant Professor, ECE, followed by the National Anthem.

The technical sessions began with a Hands-on Practical Session on IoT from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Day 2: 7thMay 2025

 The second day began at 9:30 AM with a Hands-on Practical Session on Android Development, which continued until 12:30 PM. After lunch, a Project-Oriented Training Session on Soldering was conducted from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM by Prof. Anju D.S.   From 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Prof. Roy S. delivered a Career & Innovation Talk, offering insights into emerging trends, career pathways, and innovation strategies within electronics and software development. The workshop concluded with the Distribution of Certificates and a final  Vote of Thanks by  Prof. Blessy Babu, from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM.  The two-day workshop was a resounding success, offering participants valuable insights, hands-on experience, and real-world exposure in the fields of IoT and Android development. The active participation of students and the expert guidance provided throughout made the event a truly enriching and impactful experience.
